Radical Relief Prints

A small printmaking business producing handmade prints, stickers, workshops, and more. The idea started when a friend asked me to teach her linocut printmaking. I had been teaching high school art for four years, and relief printing, also known as block printing, was always my favorite medium to share. I first learned printmaking in 2018 while studying at art Portland State University, carving woodblocks with traditional tools and printing with oil-based inks. There was something magnetic about the process: creating multiples of an image and not knowing exactly how each print would turn out until that first pull.

These days, I print with a handheld baren, or honestly, just my hands (a spoon works too if you’re feeling scrappy). From drawing, to carving, to inking, to that final reveal, the process still brings me the same joy.

Printmaking is an ancient art form, from prehistoric hand stencils to early woodblock prints in China’s Han Dynasty. It has long been tied to activism and communication, the ability to reproduce an image and spread ideas widely was, and still is, powerful. My work is often politically rooted, shaped by the human experience and social justice, while also making space for joy, whimsy, and creative exploration.
